AFLOUX — connected motorcycle workflows
AFLOUX connects rider, garage and service-provider workflows within the motorcycle ecosystem. It is in active development and production-readiness testing.
Independent product engineering developed within the TK Software portfolio, combining software engineering with domain input around garage operations, vehicle servicing and product direction. It is not commissioned client work.
Different participants. Connected work.
A rider needs to follow their motorcycle's service progress; a garage needs to manage the work behind it. AFLOUX connects both sides of the service journey while keeping the rider's account and the garage's internal customer records appropriately separate. Garages can create repairs, assign mechanics and record labour and parts, while connected riders receive authorised repair information and notifications.
Decisions behind the workflows
Explicit identity and ownership boundaries
- The need
- Registering as a rider does not make someone a customer of a particular garage.
- The decision
- Connections require explicit authorisation and consent—not matching names, emails or phone numbers. Rider accounts remain distinct from internal garage customer records.
- What this enables
- Workflows can connect while responsibility and privacy boundaries remain clear.
Role-specific connected workflows
- The need
- Riders, garages, mechanics and service providers need different information and actions.
- The decision
- Participant-specific access supports work from receipt through repair, waiting for parts, collection and completion. Riders see permitted service information, not private garage records or another customer’s data.
- What this enables
- Each participant can follow or manage the parts of the service lifecycle relevant to their role.
One repair. Connected responsibilities.
A rider can connect with a garage through an authorised relationship. The garage manages the repair and mechanic assignment, while the rider receives the service updates they are permitted to see.
One possible authorised journey, illustrated with selected repair stages.
Rider
Independent personal account.
Authorised connection
Explicit consent links the rider and garage.
Garage repair workflow
The garage controls the repair and assigns the work.
Mechanic assigned by garage- Received
- In progress
- Ready for collection
Update to rider
Permitted repair information and relevant notifications.
The connection does not merge rider identity with garage customer records or expose private garage operations or another customer’s data.
The interfaces behind the story
Interface captures are from AFLOUX development and testing environments and may contain demonstration data.
What this work demonstrates
AFLOUX demonstrates how a complex operational domain can be translated into connected software with clear participant responsibilities. The engineering story is about joining workflows while preserving the boundaries between people, businesses and their information.
